Positive Space Training
Welcome to the Positive Space Initiative at Indiana University Bloomington. We greatly appreciate your willingness to proactively support the Initiative, thereby helping to foster a more accepting and inclusive environment for gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, ally and transgender students, faculty and staff on the IUB campus. We hope that you are as excited as we are about being a vital part of this initiative.
Many of the materials and the training exercises in this manual have been adopted/adapted from other Initiatives and some we have created ourselves. In the interest of making this manual as relevant and helpful to everyone as possible, we would welcome any feedback you can offer us (email@example.com).
We have more training resources available upon request. Please email us at (firstname.lastname@example.org) or feel free to drop in anytime during our office hours to collect more Positive Space resource materials.
Given that everyone comes to this role with vastly differing levels of knowledge and awareness about lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, ally and transgender issues on campus, we hope that this training will:
- Provide you with the opportunity to meet and make connections with others participating in the Positive Space Initiative;
- Answer some of your questions about Positive Space, and about your role;
- Provide a forum for raising awareness about GLBTQA issues on campus and in general.
- Feel free to contact us with any questions or for advice.
Thank you again for your commitment to the Positive Space Initiative and to making GLBTQA people at Indiana University Bloomington more visible and accepted.
