Academic Search (EBSCO)
This comprehensive, multidisciplinary database compiles several other EBSCO databases, including Academic Search Premier, with 4,500 journals, LGBT Life with Full Text, with 50 of the leading GLBT journals, periodicals, and newspapers, Gender Studies Database, produced by the NISC covers an array of sexual diversity and gender issues, and MEDLINE, produced by the National Library of Medicine. Most articles are full text.
Suggested search terms for this database:Intersexuality,” “Intersex people,” “Hermaphrodites” (an old fashion search term, still used in articles before 2007), “Sex differentiation disorders,” “Sex determination, diagnostic,” “Klinefelters’ syndrome,” “Gender identity,” “Bigender people.”

Gender Watch
A full text database of 175 publications about how gender affects society. Humanities oriented, focusing on gender studies, law, history, and some psychology. Few medical or scientific articles. Subject Headings (called Topics) do not lend themselves to intersex-related research, and keyword searches are advised.
Suggested search terms for this database:Intersex,” “Intersexuality,” “Hermaphrodite” (an old fashion search term, still used in articles before 2007), “Gender identity.”

PsychINFO
An index of 1300 psychology related publications, including links to 250 full text journals and web documents.
Suggested search terms for this database:Hermaphroditism” (an old fashion search term, used in place of “Intersexuality“), “Klinefelters syndrome,” “Turners syndrome,” “Testicular Feminization Syndrome,” “Congenital disorders,” “Genital disorders,” “Gender Identity Disorder,” “Male Genital Disorder.”

Sociological Abstracts
An index to international literature in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences, including article abstracts and links to full text articles. Suggested search terms for this database:Intersex,” “Intersexuality,” “Sex Role Identity,” “Social determination of meaning,” “Embodiment,” “Androgyny.”

Alt-Press Watch
A collection of full text underground and alternative newspapers and periodicals. Subject Headings (called Topics) do not lend themselves to intersex-related research, and keyword searches are advised.

A collection of research and publications from the Pacific Center for Sex and Society, located within the University of Hawai’i and associated with the John A. Burns School of Medicine. Focuses on issues of sexual development and society. Current research interests include intersexuality.

Wiley InterScience
Full text access to journals, reference works, and books published by Wiley InterScience. Focused on scientific, technical, medical, and professional research works. Keyword search included.

Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome Support Group
A UK based support group for women with Androgen Insensitivity syndrome, containing extensive medical information, with footnotes and bibliography. Also contains a review of recent research on the subject.

Bloomington, Indiana Chapter of the AISSG-USA Support Group
A support group for Bloomington residents and an informational site with links to recent articles, interviews, etc with women who have Androgen insensitivity syndrome.

Bodies Like Ours: Intersex Information and Peer Support
An intersex advocacy group out of Portland, Oregon. Contains recent news, links to articles, and information on legal issues.

Advocates for Informed Choice
A website for an advocacy group devoted to promoting the civil rights of intersex people. Contains legal and civil rights information.
